Abstract

Aim
|
To provide:
- Knowledge and understanding of how processes are defined and how any organisations can be managed as a process.
- Knowledge and understanding of the tools and techniques used in the management and continual improvement of processes, with practical examples of the main process improvement techniques.

|
Audience
|
The course is offered to managers who 'own' or manage processes and who wish to improve the processes and how they are managed, and also to potential improvement team members who will benefit from the use of particular improvement techniques.

Description
|
The course examines:
- What is a process and why management of processes is the key to Business Excellence
- The importance of understanding process variability as the key to successful process management.
- The importance of teamwork in achieving process improvements.
- The Basic Approach to Process Improvement touching on improvement techniques including Process Mapping, Process Measurement and Data Gathering, the use of statistics, GANTT charts, Pareto Analysis, Bar Charts, Brainstorming and Cause and Effect diagrams.
