Peter Fraser

Peter Fraser has extensive experience in the implementation of management systems. He has an honours degree in Mathematics and has been a member of the Institute for the Management of Information Systems (MIMIS) since the 1970s. After 12 years in software systems development, he led the IT Skill Group at Thomson McLintock Associates (later KPMG) in Scotland. He is a member of the Institute of Quality Assurance's Integrated Management Special Interest Group (IMSIG) and of the Deming Learning Network.

He established his own independent consultancy in 1988 prior to establishing his own company (MandOS) in November 1999 to develop a range of process mapping and management system software based on his approach to business process management and management systems design. Using the same approach, he recently designed and delivered Quality Management modules for a leading University's MSc Project Management course.

Projects

(in a wide range of business sectors such as: the NHS and other public sector organisations, oil and gas, oil service, technology, engineering, insurance, local government and a variety of SMEs).

• Management System Development: developed concise management systems in electronic format to convert business plans into practical, working systems; replaced "traditional" narrative quality systems with a process-based flowcharted presentation format. Delivered awareness training and on-going assistance as required.
• Business Process Reviews: assisted in the definition and review of existing operations leading to the identification and introduction of improvements
• Management Development and Training: developed a portfolio of training courses on business process definition and management and process-based management systems. Promoted and co-presented a series of quality system seminars for small companies in the software industry and for support departments of larger organisations. Co-ordinated management development courses for Scottish clients of a leading UK consultancy firm.

Articles

Has published a number of articles on business process management and management systems design in the Institute of Quality Assurance's Quality World magazine and TickIT International. Author of "Dee the Business" (Black and White Publishing 2005).
